Recently, we were invited to a Lunch Meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur, in our capacity as shipowners who have welcomed cadets trained under the Indonesian Transport Ministry Seafarer’s Cadet Programme on board our vessels. Under #PLB, these cadets receive hands-on training that will equip them for a dynamic career in shipping and logistics.
A Meeting of Vision and Progress:
During this luncheon, our CEO, Mr. Harald Raunio, engaged in a dynamic conversation with Dr. Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi, the Acting Director General of Sea Transportation, Republic of Indonesia. This meeting was an opportunity to share ideas and aspirations, reinforcing our mutual commitment to the advancement of our industry.
Capt. Antoni also delivered a speech later, where he emphasized the significance of perpetual learning for Indonesian seafarers. He intimated how online distance learning can empower them to expand their knowledge and skill sets even while sailing the seas, benefiting both the ships they serve and the industry as a whole.
Building Bridges and Enriching Partnerships:
We were also honoured by the presence of His Excellency Bp. Hermono, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Chief of Representative and Ambassador of the Embassy of Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur. In his speech, His Excellency expressed heartfelt gratitude for the harmonious relationship and unwavering support between Malaysian shipowners and Indonesian seafarers, as well as, his hope for even more robust collaborations in the future.
